Dana Boulos is a Lebanese-Sudanese director, photographer, and multidisciplinary creative based in Los Angeles. Known for her cinematic eye and atmospheric storytelling, she moves seamlessly between film, photography, and music. A true multi-hyphenate, Boulos crafts work that resonates across mediums, shaping culture through both commercial and artistic projects. Her campaigns include collaborations with global brands such as Gucci, Loewe, Nike, Rhode Beauty, MAC Cosmetics, and Mercedes-Benz, as well as with cultural icons including Lily-Rose Depp, Chloë Sevigny, Jim Jarmusch, and Mia Goth.
Her path into directing grew naturally from photography. “My work lives between film and photography, rooted in storytelling but always led by atmosphere and feeling,” she explains. “At the end of the day it’s about making the viewer feel when looking at the frame, image, or object.” Her short films and narrative projects quickly drew recognition from the fashion and commercial world, allowing her to expand her practice while maintaining a focus on timeless, emotionally charged imagery. Music also shapes her work: as a DJ, she has performed internationally in Paris, Tokyo, and across the U.S. and Middle East for Saint Laurent, Chopard, and Gucci, bringing the same sensibility for rhythm, texture, and feeling that defines her images.
Beyond her creative practice, Boulos is a strong advocate for women in filmmaking, speaking at Stanford and USC. She is involved in nonprofits such as Women Under the Influence, Womxn in Windows, and StayinLA, championing equal opportunities and keeping creative production rooted in Los Angeles.
