Dena Giannini is a global stylist and fashion consultant with extensive experience spanning fashion magazines, luxury brands, image consulting, show styling, celebrity engagements, and content creation across print, digital, and emerging media.
Dena began her career with an internship at Conde Nast’s iconic youth publication, Teen Vogue. She went on to earn a visual communication, multimedia journalism, and Art degree at the University of Miami. For over a decade, she served as the right hand to Edward Enninful, collaborating with him on the concept for his new British Vogue, and moving to London in 2017 to become the Fashion Market and Accessories Director for the revamp of the historical publication.
She was subsequently promoted to Style Director, a position she held until 2024. She now divides her time between Los Angeles and Paris, working across Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
Dena collaborates with Vogue editorial teams worldwide, with her work featured in British Vogue, Vogue Germany, Vogue France, Vogue Italia, Vogue Spain, Vogue Greece, Vogue Mexico, Vogue Australia, Vogue India, Vogue Hong Kong, Vogue Singapore, and Vogue China. Additionally, she styles covers and stories for numerous other international titles, including GQ, Vanity Fair, Architectural Digest, Paper magazine, and Rolling Stone.
She currently serves as the fashion director-at-large at Vogue Hong Kong. During her tenure at British Vogue, Dena styled and conceptualized iconic covers such as Billie Eilish’s transformative makeover and the November 2023 “Goodbye Vogue House” cover story and portfolio. She also annually styled the actors portfolio in Vogue Hollywood issue, which appeared in all European editions. Her work can also be seen in the recent Vanity Fair Hollywood Issue where she styled inspiring Hollywood power players and creatives from Kris Jenner and Rich Paul to Donna Langley, Sofia Coppola, Kirsten Dunst, and Elle Fanning.
Dena is deeply passionate about collaborating with influential women who are agents of change. Notable red-carpet moments include styling activist Malala Yousafzai for her Oscars debut in 2023, actor Michelle Yeoh for the Met Gala, and musician Billie Eilish for all three of her Met Gala appearances. Dena’s work was highlighted in the Kensington Palace Crown to Couture Exhibition in 2023, for which she was featured in the official museum catalog.
Dena regularly works with renowned photographers such as Craig McDean, Norman Jean Roy, Elizaveta Porodina, Nick Knight, Greg Williams, Dan Jackson, Markn, and Sean Thomas, among others.
“Clothes are a form of communication from the moment you walk in the room. Fashion is a dialogue,” she says. “Clothes can empower you to take on the world with confidence and protection. The realities of life are tough so if we can give people a dream and an escape, we can inspire hope.”
