Stylist based in New York

Natasha Royt is a distinguished fashion stylist and creative consultant known for her impeccable taste, vast industry knowledge, and ability to craft visually compelling narratives. Originally from Canada, she began her career in 1999 at Elle Magazine before moving to Vogue in 2001 as an assistant to the legendary fashion editor Phyllis Posnick. This formative experience immersed her in the golden era of magazine publishing, working with iconic photographers like Irving Penn and Helmut Newton—an education in precision, artistry, and the power of storytelling through fashion.

Royt went on to assist Camilla Nickerson for five years, contributing to some of the most boundary-pushing editorials at American and Italian Vogue, and later at W Magazine under the visionary leadership of Dennis Freedman. After nearly a decade of working and assisting at the highest levels of fashion—on editorial shoots, fashion shows, and major advertising campaigns—she established herself as a sought-after freelance stylist in her own right in 2009.

With an unwavering passion for photography, design, and image-making, Royt’s work is defined by a polished, refined, and modern aesthetic. Her masterful moodboards and deep well of cultural references—spanning art, film, fashion, and photography—bring a unique point of view to every project. Clients benefit not only from her technical expertise but also from her warm, collaborative approach and keen ability to translate creative visions into striking reality.

Beyond styling, Royt has expanded her influence as the editor, art director, and writer of The First Option, her beautifully curated newsletter that reflects her signature blend of high fashion, editorial insight, and luxury shopping expertise. Through The First Option, she shares trend analyses, styling guidance, and sophisticated shopping edits while also offering a glimpse into her passion for wellness, yoga, movement practices, retreat travel and holistic beauty.

As the industry continues to evolve, Royt remains at the forefront—bringing her discerning eye, extensive experience, and fresh perspective to every project she takes on.
